Dahi Vada is a South Indian snack recipe made with dahi and spices sprinkled over deep-fried and crispy vadas. We have used this instant vada mix from Suhana spices. All you need to do is add water to the vada mix, shape it into vada, and deep fry. Do try this homemade dahi vada recipe and enjoy it with your loved ones.
This 3 step medu vada recipe is so easy to make and the vada’s come out to be perfectly crispy, fluffy and golden. You can either make a vada chaat, have it with sambhar and chutney or make a dahi vada like we have made. Watch the full recipe video to learn how to make this medu dahi vada at home.
1 Packet Suhana Medu Vada
Oil, for frying
Curd, as required
Salt to taste
Red Chilli Powder, to taste
Chaat Masala, to taste
Boondi, for garnish
Coriander, for garnish
Empty the medu vada instant mix into a bowl along with water and mix well to form a lump-free vada mixture. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
Heat oil for deep frying in a pan.
Apply a little water to your palms, take a small portion of the vada mixture, make it into a donut shape and lower it into the hot oil. Repeat with the remaining mixture. You can also make round-shaped vada’s.
Cook the vada’s for 2-3 minutes per side over medium heat until golden and crispy. Remove on a plate and keep aside.
Arrange the vada’s on a serving platter, spoon some curd over them followed by a sprinkle of salt, red chilli powder, chaat masala and boondi.
Garnish the dahi vada with coriander leaves and serve.
